Hello
I hope that everyone is well leading into the Festive season!
Just a quick email to let you know about the Pure Tone Stores new security measures, we know that web security is a nervous issue for a lot of online shoppers!
We have just purchased and applied our own SSL certificate from GEO Trust and have applied it to our store. When you log into our shop you will see our secure certificate kick in, the secure side is basically any side where you input information so your login page, sign up page, account page, payment gateway are all protected by our beefed up security.
We value your security and safety on our shop, we do not keep records of your payment information and we give no information away. We want you to feel safe while shopping with us and we would love for you to come back and tell your friends! We do this by taking every precaution with our website security! (and by being friendly too)
Our new website has; GEO Trust SSL certification, NO outside advertising, NO malware or executable files, a secure SQL server, NO hidden Links, NO hidden CSS/Java.
We do realise that online shopping is growing in popularity, it is fast convenient and a great place for information so here are some tips and things to look for in an online shop:
https - You should see this in front of the web address in your browser (some browsers hide this info depending on settings) the S in https stands for secure. If you don’t see a secure sign do not enter any payment information!
The padlock: in most browsers when you are on a secure side you will see a little padlock appear on the top of the browser or on the bottom. This is another secure sign; some browsers will even show you the webpage secure certificate when you click on the padlock! When you click on our padlock using internet explorer it shows our GEO Trust Global certificate.
Web addresses that make sense!: When you log into a webpage take a quick look at the address, does it make sense? Is there a something there that does not look right?
Take our log in page for example:
Real Page: http://www.pure-tone.com/login.php
VS
Fake Page: 'http://www.au.1pure-tone.2d43ew.com/login.au'
The first web address makes sense, the second does not!
The first address you can look at and see straight away what the website is all about; it is a login page for www.pure-tone.com it is clear, makes sense and has https. There are no random phrases and words added and the domain name is clear. The first page is our new secure login page.
The second address is scary; it has all sorts of mess around the address, is not https, and doesn’t even look like it belongs to the domain, if you saw an address like the first page leave the page immediately!!
And Lastly... Is there a human behind the webpage: this is a nice and simple tip if you are still unsure email the people who are running the website, ask for help on their products, ask for a postal address or something you can check out yourself.
I hope this helps
Cheers!Joel RasmussenCo-Owner Pure Tone Music Store
